Summary: Love this product!
Comment: I bought this for my daughter last year for xmas, when she was 3 (now 4) and hasn't put it down since. I read a few reviews how the product didn't last very long, well, that is not the case here. Its still great as ever. My daughter has dropped it a million times and it still works. We only have 3 games but she never gets bored with it. I"m going to buy her I SPY this year. It keeps her entertained, educational, durable, car friendly, and its really cute!

Summary: Well worth the $$$!
Comment: We have 3 boys, ages 3, 5, and 7. We were trying to hold out on video games since it will probably be inevitable at some point, but this Leapster is not your typical video game. They are learning a lot and are most definitely using their brains while they're playing. We have a few games, some letter/word ones as well as math. And they all love to play with it- it was very easy for them to just pick up and start playing. Even the 3-yr old. It goes through batteries pretty quickly, but we use an old portable DVD player car adapter cord with it in the car now and the same player's regular power cord if we use it in the house, so batteries are not an issue anymore! Highly recommend this product.

Summary: Leapfrog replaced it free, no questions asked AFTER the warranty had expired!
Comment: We purchased an LMAX for our five year old for Christmas, and she loved it. It worked wonderfully for the first 5 months or so, then the screen just went- you could hear the game going, but the screen was blank. We put in a call to Leapfrog, they told us to send it in. We did, and exactly 1 week later, went outside and tripped over a brand new one in a box on our front step. To top it off, the new one had a screen cover on it, whereas ours hadn't had one. We were so impressed. The warranty was only supposed to be 90 days, we were well past that, and the turn-around time was amazing. The customer service was impeccable. I strongly recommend this product for many reasons (oh, and if you look up leapfrog coupon codes on google, I'd be willing to bet you'll find one that will make it worth your time! ;) )

Summary: Perfect Traveling Entertainment
Comment: I bought this L-Max for my 5 year old over a year ago & she has really enjoyed it. Very handy for long trips. We've hooked it up to our tv, but very rarely use that feature. Wish there was a larger variety of games for the L-Max that is tailored for girls. Great for younger children, but would not recommend this for children over the age of 7. My oldest child has a Nintendo and my youngest is starting to play with it more often than her L-Max.

Summary: Good but...
Comment: The leapster lets your child feel like they are playing video games, but you feel good because they are learning.
However, it's a pricey toy that gets played with for a short while, and then forgotten.

Leapfrog customer service is awful, and not customer focused, so my review of any of their products is tainted by my experience with the company. If you don't deal with them and your product never breaks, you'll be lucky. : )

My recommendation is spend more time reading and playing with your child, and save $80-100. They will learn how to read, write and add just as fast.
