Summary: Not as good as #3
Comment: I went to the local marathon store told them my arch hurt when I was using the Wave Runner 7/8's (?). They said I need a little more support for my longer runs. Recommended the 3's. Moved on to the 4's obviously as time does. Good shoe over all and put about 300miles after I retired them with no complaints.

For medium support and stability, this running shoe has all the features you need to get out there and enjoy your run. Mizuno technology offers a smooth ride every time with a softer shock absorbing crash pad in the heel and a balanced heel to toe transition. This shoe offers support through a double fan Wave plate design, but maintains flexibility with a break in the upper between the center laces.
